About the Event

This workshop series is about the relationship among biological processes, emotional well-being and health. In some cases biological systems are best known for their association with dysfunction or disease (e.g. inflammation, cortisol); this workshop series aims to examine how biological systems and patterns of activation might be uniquely associated with emotional well-being and help promote health.  Our first seminar focuses on the Autonomic Nervous System.

Esteemed guest speakers for this webinar include Julian Thayer, PhD, Professor of Psychological Science at UC Irvine, Lani Shiota, PhD, Associate Professor of Social Psychology at Arizona State University, and Antony Ong, PhD professor of psychology at Cornell University. Network for Emotional Well-Being co-PI Wendy Mendes, PhD, Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF will also share key insights from her research during this inaugural webinar. Q&A and interactive segments will be led by members of our Network for Emotional Well-Being collaborative team.

This workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25, 2022, from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm pacific time. Participation in the N-EWB: Biological Processes, Emotional Well-Being, and Health webinars are free, though registration is required to access the calendar invites, webinar links, and pre-reading materials.
